Specifications
Common Use Stearic acid is an 18 carbon saturated fatty acid lipid with excellent hydrophobicity. PEGylated stearic acid is an excellent amphilphilic polymer with both hydrophilicity and hydrophobility. PEGylated stearyl (stearic acid-MPEG) is an amphiphilic, PEG surfactant and can be used to form micelles, drug delivery systems to enhance drug solubility and improve drug formulation and bioavailability. PEG is attached to the C18 alkyl ( octadecanoic acid) through an amide bond.
