Poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone)s

Poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone)s (PGACL) is a biodegradable and biocompatible copolymer composed of polycaprolactone and ε-caprolactone by ring-opening polymerization. These copolymers can be hydrolyzed due to the presence of ester bonds in the polymer backbone. It was found that different forms of PGACL can be obtained depending on the monomer ratio used and the polymer block structure. These different forms produce materials with different degrees of crystallinity, thermal transitions, solubility, and degradation rates. Due to the above characteristics of PGACL, it is commonly used in biomedical fields such as implants, sutures, prosthetic devices, scaffolds, microparticles and nanoparticles for tissue engineering applications. In addition, PGACL has also been used in drug delivery studies, such as polymer as a drug carrier to deliver drugs into lesion.

CD Bioparticles offers poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone)s in various CL:GA ratios for the research of solid phase drug delivery or implantable systems. Contact us to learn how poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone)s can help your work.
