AB Diblock Copolymers

AB diblock copolymers are copolymers in which the basic unit consists of two block chains. The two blocks are completely different, for example, A is a hydrophobic polymer and B is a hydrophilic polymer. Depending on the application, they can all consist of hydrophilic or hydrophobic polymers. Therefore, different types of nanostructures, such as copolymer micelles and polymer vesicles, can be prepared from these block copolymers. It has been shown that AB block copolymer micelles can be used to prolong mucosal drug delivery of hydrophobic drugs. Therefore, it has great potential to utilize AB diblock copolymers as delivery vehicles for various types of drugs.
